Recommended Reads for Valentine's Day

I haven't been a librarian for over 20 years for nothing! Here are my top romance reads if you're looking for a great bookish valentine this season.

  1. Kit McBride Gets a Wife by Amy Barry is one of the most fun books I've ever read. If you enjoy classic musicals like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers or Oklahoma...this is the book for you.

2. The Man I Never Met by Ellie Cook. If you want a book that keeps you turning pages and might also rip your heart out...it's this. Also perfect if you love international, will they won't they, type stories.

3. The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston. If you're into time slip, this is for you! What an amazing story. If you loved the movie, The Lake House (with Keeanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock) then you will love this book too.

4. The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest. This has a great hidden identity and it's perfect for book lovers because he is a struggling author and she is a huge fan of his first, obscure, book. But she doesn't know who he is! It has a You've Got Mail (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan) vibe.

5. The Little Board Game Cafe by Jennifer Page. A unique spin on the heroine opening a charming little shop in a charming little town. It's set in England, which is always a 'yes' from me and it's got all sorts of geeky charm. So cute!

6. Sorry, Bro by Taleen Voskani. This story features Armenian characters, which you don't see a lot of in mainstream fiction. It's a charming sapphic love story but also steeped in Armenian culture with a fantastic intergenerational cast.
