I can not tell you how much I loved this book. Having read, and loved, the first book in this series, The Fabulous Forties Club, I hoped this one would be as engaging, fun, and poignant as the first. I needn't have worried. As much as I loved the first book, I think I actually loved this one even more.

Becca and her two besties, Niamh and Laura, are all 46 years old. They're battling perimenopause with varying degrees of success. In addition to their own bodies pulling the rug out from under them, life is coming at them fast and furious. Their young adult children are providing plenty of turmoil, job satisfaction, or lack thereof, is causing them to reassess, marriage and/or dating difficulties are creating difficult to weather storms, and much more.

The problems these women face are so real and relatable that I found myself tearing up often as I read. Not only did I feel for them, but I felt seen and understood. But tears aren't the only emotion this book elicits. There's so much warmth and humor as well. I literally laughed and cried my way through this book and I loved every second of it. I want to be friends with these characters and with the author, Freya Kennedy. I sincerely hope this series will continue. After all, perimenopause can last a full ten years. That's a lot of time to read books about women who are also going through it. I recommend this book with a plethora of enthusiasm! I would absolutely read this book again and I know I'd be delighted all over again. (And not just because my memory is shit these days.) Do yourself a favor and get a copy of these book!
