Alana Oxford Interviews

I don't think I ever officially announced it because, well, we all know how 2020 went.

I have branched out and rebranded myself and my writing. I am currently writing romcom, librarian romance, and humorous women's fiction as Alana Oxford. My debut romcom is a novella called Blue Skies. It came out at the end of August 2020 and has been making readers happy ever since! If you don't believe me, you can check out the reviews on Goodreads. (It has more than Amazon does so you can get a wider sample size before you decide if it's worth looking into for yourself.)

Blue Skies is an afternoon read of just over 100 pages, so it'll give you a nice sample of how I write my romances. (The lovely cover was designed by Mariah Sinclair.) Here's the back cover blurb, so you don't have to go clicking elsewhere to see what it's about:

Life isn't always a walk in the park, but when Patrice takes her Pomeranians to the park after a rough day at the office, fate steps in. An unlikely hero comes to the rescue when one of her dogs gets loose. Short, pale, and kind of cute, Seth doesn't have a lot of confidence with the ladies, but he hits it off with Patrice. But some things might be too good to be true. While Patrice wonders if Seth could possibly be "the one", fate steps in again with a horrible twist. Will it be a deal breaker or just a storm before bright blue skies?

I'm currently querying my first full length romcom, Scotsman in the Stacks. We'll see how that goes. Meanwhile, I've started drafting my next full length romcom and a humorous women's fiction story. I'm loving this new direction of writing and I hope readers will too.

The reason I actually wrote this post was to let you know that I was recently interviewed by Alaura Filbin for her Write Reckless Podcast. I had a lot of fun talking to her, so you can check that out if you're interested.

I was also super honored to be a guest on the web series, Hot Topics with Cecil and Sureg'ay. We had an absolute blast talking about writing, books, libraries, and then we played a game. You can check that out on their YouTube channel. My segment starts around the 31:45 mark. Happy reading, listening, and watching!
