I am so excited to share the cover for my upcoming librarian romance, Scotsman in the Stacks! It'll be available for your reading pleasure this June, 2022! In the meantime, don't forget to add it to your Goodreads list!
About the book:
Paige wants two things: to land a full time librarian job and find the man of her dreams. On the cusp of thirty, she finds herself suddenly single and working part-time in a Michigan library. A handsome patron with a delicious accent appears at the reference desk, inadvertently sparking an idea that might help her land the promotion she so desperately needs. But that's not the only thing he sparks.
James is in town from Glasgow, Scotland, on a summer artist residency. Luckily, the trip got him away from the pressure he feels to take over his uncle's river tour business. He only wanted to clear his head and make his art in peace, but he wasn't counting on finding an attractive librarian to fill his days.
With only eight weeks before James goes home to Scotland, Paige knows she should protect her heart. After all, she already wasted years with her commitment phobe ex. But the more she gets to know James, the less she can stick to her plan to just be friends. Is she just wasting her time again, or can they bridge the ocean between them to find a happily ever after of their own?

Thank you so much to Purpose on Paper for giving my story this lovely cover!
Why did I write this book?
I've worked in libraries a looooong time. Once I got my driver's license, I got a job at my local library as a shelving page. Fast forward through college...and a master's degree in Library and Information Science, and some amount of years past that, and I'm still working in public libraries...as a librarian now. I feel like public libraries are portrayed as quaint, quiet, and idyllic in most fiction, but some wild stuff happens when you work with the public. I wanted to add some realism into my library romance. It's not always an easy job, and no, librarians don't sit around 'reading all day.' (If we had a dollar for every time someone said that to us, it'd be a nice supplement to the historically lowest paid career requiring a master's degree!)
Also, the idea of an international library romance has been with me for a long time. You know that library I first started at? I stayed there for eight years and worked my way up to a circulation clerk. One of my co-workers was sitting at her circulation computer when a hunk with an accent walked up and asked her how to get a library card. Now, I know book reviewers love to diss "instalove" but I saw it happen! Over the course of a few months, I watched their love story blossom before my eyes. And they got their happily ever after. They're married, have kids, and are going strong! Even back when they were still dating, they'd say I should write their love story one day. Always seemed like a good idea.
That idea and their awesome courtship have stayed with me. While this story is not all about them, it is inspired by them and the fact that real life can be just as romantic as fiction...and more!
I hope you will enjoy this love story that celebrates not only romance, but the beauty of Michigan and Scotland. Add to your TBR list on Goodreads today and stay tuned for upcoming news and giveaways as we get closer to release day!
